About NCCFFI

Organizational Goal

To recognize NCCFFI as the purposeful and focused representative organization of Fly Fishing in Northern California/Nevada. To connect with member clubs and bring value to them in their efforts to support their community watersheds and local fly fishing members.

Strategies to Achieve Our Goals and Fulfill our Mission

Provide relevant support and tools to the NCCFFI member clubs.
Distribute communications for education, conservation efforts and local and Northern California programs.
Board Development Committee to review & establish criteria for Council action plan.
Connecting with and engaging clubs. Bring value & a sense of NCCFFI as an asset to local clubs.
Re-establish a robust conservation advocacy program.

The NCCFFI offers grants to clubs for conservation projects.

Conservation Efforts

Education

Trout in the Classroom is one aspect of our education outreach. The NCCFFI’s efforts include providing grants to fund equipment purchases and programs to help teachers in classroom instruction.

Tens of thousands of dollars in NCCFFI club grants by have been provided in support of this program.

Instruction & Learning

The NCCFFI hosts Learning Centers during events such as the International Sportsmen’s Exposition and the Pleasanton Fly Fishing Show.

Many current fly fishers have been introduced to fly fishing at these events.

Veteran Rehabilitation

The NCCFFI and member clubs support Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF). An outreach programs that teach fly fishing and offer outings to disabled veterans as part of their rehabilitation. A growing number of NCCFFI-affiliated clubs are active with PHWFF.
